Clinical Effects of Moclobemide on Depression

Abstract

|
Moclobemide is a reversible monoamine oxidase inhibitor which predominantly inhibit the A form of MAO. Moclobemide (200~300mg/day) was given for 6 weeks to 30 patients suffering from depression and its clinical effects were evaluated with
Hamiiton
Depression Scale and clinical global impression. The results show that moclobemide had improved the depression significantly compared to pretreatment condition. The first significant improvement was noted at the second week. It was well tolerated
by
patients and there was no significant adverse event and no significant changes in vital signs and laboratory parameters.
